Why natural cleaning products should be a non-negotiable in every home
MS BROWN'S FOUNDER SPOKE TO VOGUE LIVING ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF USING NATURAL CLEANING PRODUCTS AT HOME.

For the uninitiated, natural cleaning products might sound like a nightmare. A product meant to wash your home, your clothes and your body but without any germ-stripping chemicals? Ineffective, you might be thinking.
However, it’s quite the contrary, and with everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow to your neighbour, likely willing to attest, great natural cleaning products are here — and they’re not going anywhere.
“It’s one of the easiest ways to have a positive impact on your health and the environment. When it comes to overall wellness it’s not always easy to stick to a healthy, plant-based diet or remember to bring your cotton bags to the supermarket to reduce plastic, but once you have made the switch at home for natural cleaning and body products you’ll never look back,” Alexandra Brown of Ms BROWN tells Vogue Living, proving there’s definitely room for plant-based products at home — even in the laundry.
Founding Ms BROWN earlier this year, Brown’s Wool and Cashmere Wash has proven somewhat of a hit not only for its effective, gentle ability to wash your most precious woollens, but because it’s filled a gap that really, really needed to be filled — the one that proved natural cleaning products could look as good as their synthetic counterparts.
Aesthetics aside, Ms BROWN’s wash has started a conversation around natural cleaning products, and with the negative side effects that can come about from harsh detergents, there’s never been a better time to make the switch.
“The harsh, synthetic chemicals used in most household cleaning products are not only irritating to your skin and damaging to your clothes, they can also cause headaches and even hormone disruptions and disease. Then, consider what happens when those ingredients are washed down the drain and into our water systems and environment…” Brown says.
“I have spent a great deal of time learning about the impacts of commonly used ingredients in laundry and body products and their impact not just on your clothes but also on your skin, overall health and the environment. If there is any doubt about an ingredient, it’s not included in our products.”
Considering making the switch? Your body (and your home) will thank you.
